PTL would like to announce our newest capability – Measurement of Dynamic Viscosity of liquids and colloidal suspensions using a Brookfield LVDV-II+Pro Viscometer. The viscometer simultaneously measures sample viscosity, temperature, shear rate/stress, percent torque, and rotational speed. It has a viscosity measurement range of approximately 1.0 to 6 million cP (mPa×s), and is capable of measuring shear rates up to about 100 sec-1. Viscosity measurements are useful in, but not limited to: the study of fine particles in a suspending liquid as in pharmaceuticals, paints, and colloidal dispersions leveling as observed in coatings, adhesives, and printing inks draining under gravity, as in the processes of painting and coating the extrusion process of some polymers dip coating in paints and confectionery Multiple behavioral correlations have also been established in the fields of mixing, stirring, and pipe flow applications.
For more information on this new measurement, or any of our other particle characterization capabilities, please feel free to contact us at (630) 969-2703, or email us at
